DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: As a Dalish, Keith has Vallaslin, or traditional blood writing tattoos, though his are considerably lighter than average, being tattooed in a light shade of blue. His tattoos in particular are almost resemble a celtic circlet, but in fact give patronage to Ghilan'nain, the Mother of the halla—white deer-like creatures revered by the Dalish and used to pull their aravel, or "landships"—and goddess of navigation. This is due to the fact that the tattoos were not signs of patronage to the various elven gods in ancient times but, in fact, slave markings--signs of ownership--when noble elves enslaved the lower classes; they were representations of the gods that the nobles favored.

As a member of the Llavellan clan, he's somewhat unusual in that he is familiar with human culture and has traded with them on a regular basis. He's respectful if not strangely friendly to all people regardless of race, his ultimate concern being peace and to help in any way that he can. He joined the Inquisition because he genuinely wants to protect and serve if he can.

At times he comes off as "clueless" or rather idealistic due to his want to save people, and his near constant optimism. The only thing that really seems to get him angry is if he sees injustice or unfairness, or if you try calling him "Knife-ear".
